ARCHEOLOGICAL ENSEMBLE
Is one of the most important medieval fortifications of Pallars.
The castle of Valčncia, strategically sited over a hill, was last bastion of feudal Catalonia and was the only one in use during the 17th century in the vallies of Ŕneu. From its advantageous location it dominates the entire valley.
The passing of time has not left it undamaged and presently is in ruins but since 1990 archeological excavations, reforms and reconstruction are in progress.
A visit well documented is indispensdable for understanding medieval times.
