Located between the areas of Pallars Sobirà, Vall d'Aran, Alta Ribagorça and Pallars Jussà, is the only existing national park in Catalonia.
It extends some 14,119 hectares withouth including the protective zone
(27,000 ha.) and is divided into two sectors: Aigüestortes and Estany
de Sant Maurici.
Some of the factors for inducing visits are the vegetation and the protected fauna, mountains with peaks of 3,000 metres, more than 200 lakes and the opportunity of making many excursions.
This is a living ecosystem that changes with the seasons making every visit different.
